چکیده
This paper discusses a multivariate approach aimed at geophysical characterization of subsurface rocks for groundwater exploration in arid environments. We integrate several findings obtained from single-source, single-sensor seismic profile with gravity data to detail the tectonic settings and characterize subsurface, water-bearing formations Al Jaww Plain, one most important reserves United Arab Emirates. The have been acquired framework first EAGE Middle-East Bootcamp. Edge-detection techniques applied Bouguer anomaly map Plain allowed us infer presence unreported ENE trending lineaments. prestack depth migrated image shows clear previously east-verging thrust affecting wave propagation consistent which was interpreted as an evidence detachment fold above bottom Fiqa Formation. Using first-arrival picking common shot gathers, we tested coupled tomographic inversion P-wave velocity Q factor achieving qualitative rock petrophysical properties. K-means clustering used classify areas characterized by similar observations P- Q-wave therefore outline shallow zones (<600 m) that are properties typical water accumulations within reach exploration.

Groundwater level fluctuation forecasting Using Artificial Neural Network in Arid and Semi-Arid Environment
In arid and semi-arid environments, groundwater plays a significant role in the ecosystem. In the last decades, groundwater levels have decreased due to the increasing demand for water, weak irrigation management and soil damage. For the effective management of groundwater, it is important to model and predict fluctuations in groundwater levels. In this study, groundwater table in Kashan plain ...
متن کاملHydrogeochemical Evolution of Groundwater Resource in an Arid Region of Southeast Iran (Ravar plain–Kerman province)
This study was carried out in the Ravar plain, a typical arid zone in southeastern Iran, with the objectives of evaluating hydrochemical quality of the groundwater resources and identifying the processes that modify the groundwater composition. Groundwater samples were collected from representative wells spread over the study area. Major cations and anions along with physico-chemical parameters...
متن کاملExploring the relationship between land use and surface water quality using multivariate statistics in arid and semi-arid regions
The relative impacts of different types of land use on the surface water quality are yet to be ascertained and quantified. In this paper, the influence of different types of land use on surface water quality is investigated. Rain events samples from different land use in the central plateau, Iran, were analyzed for major ions. Statistical analyses were employed to examine the statistical relati...

Aim of this study was to examine economically consequences of conservation practices and their impacts on groundwater resources management. Methodology: Examination of alloca...
متن کاملLong Lead Flood Simulation Using Downscaled GCM Data in Arid and Semi-arid Regions: A Case Study
Flood is one of the most calamitous natural disasters that causes extensive property and life damages across theworld. It however, could be a blessing due to its special natural water resources recharging value. By simulating themagnitude of probable floods considering the anthropogenic and natural effects and implementing contingency plans, their damages could be reduced. In this paper, the Gen...
